ABSTRACT
Vertebral hemangiomas are vascular tumors that occur more frequently during the forth and fifth decades of life, with most common location in the thoracolumbar column. Most of the tumors are asymptomatic and incidental in imaging studies; however, they can grow during pregnancy and develop neurologic symptoms with feasible permanent neurological damage. Diagnosis should be suspected in patients with worsening chronic lumbalgia and imaging studies, specially, Nuclear MRI and TC. Treatment is mostly surgical and is determined by gestational age and degree of neurological maternal damage. There are only twenty seven cases reported in world literature. The current case started symptoms at term of pregnancy proceeding with the interruption of pregnancy via cesarean section with further diagnosis of multifocal vertebral hemangiomas in the eleventh thoracic and first lumbar vertebrae, she received surgical treatment with complete recovery to date.
