Tuberculosis genital como causa de infertilidad: reporte de un caso

ABSTRACT
Genital tuberculosis (GTB) is secondary to extragenital disease, principally pulmonar, manifested with infertility, oligo-amenorrea as well as pelvic pain. This report informs the case of a woman with 6 years of infertility and 8 years of amenorrea, with GTB suspected by histeroscopy and laparoscopy, biopsy and confirmation of the diagnosis with cultures and Polimerasa Chain Reaction ( PCR).
The culture is the most sensitive and specific method for the diagnosis of tuberculosis, in spite of the large incubation periods.
With the increase frequency in GTB, the serious implications in the reproductive outcome of the woman affected, because the most of the cases have a delay diagnosis and treatment implications with antituberculosal drugs until for 6 months, the aim of this report, is underline the advantages and limitations of new diagnosis techniques like PCR, rarely use for the diagnosis of GTB.
