ABSTRACT
Gyneco-obstetric hospitalized patients usually present emotional reactions to hospitalization, especially affective type that can or not be part of a mental disorder. Some of these manifestations respond to the event in a similar way as a crisis state, not necessarily considered as pathological manifestations, to which, we have denominated psychological discomfort.
In this work we suggest diagnostic indications, objectives and therapeutic strategies based on evidence for specific treatment of these manifestations in an Institutional context which primary purpose is not the treatment in mental health. The behavioural therapy and treatments with inter-subjectivist orientation obtain the best levels of evidence and recommendation for the problem mentioned in the hospital context.
