ABSTRACT
Background: Post-dural puncture cephalea (migraine or violent headache) is the most frequent complication secondary to peridural blocking and it is also the most frequent cause of demands in Anesthesiology. In this review, we report a novel treatment option.
Material and methods: Two mL of fibrin adhesive were applied as a patch to five patients that did not respond to the conservative treatment for post-dural puncture cephalea.
Results: The 100% of the patients presented complete remission of cephalea.
Conclusions: We propose the described management %Fibrin Patch (FP)% as an option to the hematic patch, with the advantage of diminishing adverse reactions and injection of lower volumes in the peridural space.
