ABSTRACT
Rosacea is a common inflammatory disease affecting the face with flushing, papules, pustules and telangiectasias, which characteristically presents remissions and exacerbations. Its aetiology and pathogenesis are still unknown. Currently it is classified as erythematotelangiectasic, papulopustulous, phymatous, and ocular; granulomatous rosacea is considered a variant. The former presents predominantly in the maxillary and periorificial regions of the face as red or yellowish-brown papules and/or nodules, which sometimes form plaques. Skin biopsy is mandatory for its diagnosis, where a granulomatous infiltrate is found. We present the case of a 46-year-old male with granulomatous rosacea confirmed by biopsy, showing non-caseiting granulomas with periadnexial disposition. The patient was prescribed minocycline 100 mg/día for 12 weeks with complete resolution of the lesions.
