ABSTRACT
The use of ultrasound in the evaluation of musculoskeletal diseases has grown rapidly due to its ability to identify soft tissues and because it offers the possibility to perform dynamic studies in real time. It has 2 main indications in the infant hip, acetabular dysplasia and articular effusions. In this article we present the normal anatomy in infant hip as seen with ultrasound and we compare it to the conventional pelvic radiography. We show some examples of acetabular dysplasia and we propose a dynamic technique to help assess stability problems.
