ABSTRACT
We reviewed five cases of thoracogenic scoliosis of 308 clinic and radiological general scoliosis, four thoracoplasty and one pleural, which have been treated with surgery from 1993 to 1998; two patients with segmental spine instrumentation (SSI) with Moss-Miami; and three with SSI Luque type.We have observed three patients with a right thoracic curve and two with a double curve; these patients showed an average of right curve of 68° and lumbar curve of 64.5° at the surgery time.
The average of correction for the thoracic curve was 21.3% and for the lumbar curve 24.6%
This alteration has to be observed intentionally by the Orthopedics, Pediatricians and Cardiology personnel.
