ABSTRACT
Of all hereditary bone dysplasias, osteopetrosis may be the most impressive kind because of the pronounced bone density changes. The “bone within bone” image is the hallmark of this disease. Osteopetrosis is a bone-broadening disease inherited as dominant or recessive, yielding to marble density, skeletal fragility and multiple fractures despite increased bone mass, causing permanent physical disability and even death.
