Leptospirosis: emergent zoonosis. Case report

ABSTRACT
Leptospirosis is a zoonosis of worldwide distribution caused by the pathogenic spirochetal species Leptospira interrogans. Human infection ocurrs through exposure to water or soil contaminated with infected animal urine. In this article is described a case of leptospirosis in a 20 years old man who arrived at internal medicine ward by jaundice and febrile syndrome.
