ABSTRACT
Congenital ectropion uvea (CEU) is an extremely rare, non-progressive ocular malformation characterized by the presence of pigment epithelium on the anterior surface of the iris stroma associated with glaucoma. This pathology is frequently unilateral. It can be associated with neurofibromatosis and occasionally with other ocular anomalies as facial hemihypertrophy, Rieger’s anomaly and Prader Willi syndrome. Some patients don’t have systemic anomalies. We present a 25 years old male with bilateral congenital ectropion uvea and glaucoma without systemic anomalies, with high intraocular pressure and wide cupping. He underwent filtering surgery. CEU is a very uncommon entity, which must be diagnosed in early childhood to install proper therapy in order to avoid blindness.
