Autotrasplante libre de conjuntiva en biopsia excisional de lesión conjuntival pigmentada: Nevo de unión. Reporte de un caso

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Pigmented lesions of the conjunctiva need special attention because of their potential malignance. Early detection determines prognosis and life quality. If clinical evolution suggest malignance, as abrupt pigmentation and or growth, it is necessary to realize a histpatological study.
Case report: A 32- year old patient with a nodular, pigmented, bulbar conjunctiva lesion is presented. The lesion has an evolution of 4 month with recent redness and volume enlargement. An excision biopsy with free conjunctiva auto transplant was realized. The histopatological study reported junction nevus.
Discussion: The treatment for large conjunctiva nevus with malignance signs is the excision biopsy with free conjunctiva auto transplant. A hispotathological study must be performed in every case.
