ABSTRACT
Forty-eight patients with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH), were examined and treated placing the Pavlik harness for the reduction, The patients´age averages 3 months 2 days.
A chronologic evaluation was carried out to determine the average time on which the concentric reduction took place, the time that took to wean the baby, and also the time took to remove the Pavlik harness.
Treatment was successful except for 6 cases. Arthrographies were performed in all 6 cases and 4 were subjected to close reduction and 2 to open reduction. Two cases presented Kalamchi Grade I avascular necrosis.
