ABSTRACT
Primary lymphomas of the thyroid gland constitutes less than 5% of all thyroid neoplasms and up to 80% are associated to Hashimoto´s and to lymphocytic thyroiditis. The most frequent histological types are: diffuse large B cell lymphoma, MALT type marginal zone B-cell lymphoma and unfrequent are follicular lymphoma, plasmacytoma and peripheral T/NK lymphoma. It is a descriptive study of three cases (1.3%). The patients were female of 56, 58 and 70 years of age, presented increased volume of the anterior neck region, asfixia and hoarseness. Two cases were diagnosed as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and the other as MALT type marginal zone B-cell lymphoma associated to Hashimoto´s thyroiditis. All three non -Hodgkin´s lymphomas presented positivity to B cell markers (CD 20 and CD 79a ), two were positive to bcl-2 and one to bcl-6. We stand out the morphological characteristics of the two types of the thyroid primary lymphomas and his association with Hashimoto´s and lymphocytic thyroiditis and discuss the differential diagnosis.
