A 30 year old female patient presents with a mass on the volar side of the right wrist, 3 years of evolution, 4 x 2 cm, hard, well-defined edges, not mobile, with no functional limitation to the wrist, slight intermittent pain along with median nerve sensitive alterations. The first diagnosis is of a wrist lipoma. She is sent to the Bone Tumors Unit of the Orthopedic Hospital «Victorio de la Fuente Narváez» of Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social. Surgical resection of the tumor was decided following clinical and radiologic evaluation. A multilobulated tumor was extracted, 6 x 4 cm, that extended from the distal radius to the scaphoid and trapezoid bones, also to the first dorsal compartment of the wrist. It was wrapped around the median nerve and extense vascular supply originated from the radial artery. The final pathology report was of a giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath.REFERENCES
