ABSTRACT
Quality constitutes an organizational value in health services and, in order to measure it, assessment is necessary as an act to demonstrate the results of the health attention process, specifically in nursery care. Quality evaluation implies the establishment of a monitoring system and the follow-up of nursery services based upon indicators and standards. In the National Institute of Cardiology “Ignacio Chávez” ten process indicators were introduced. They are subjected to a continuous monitoring and to an improvement process, with the aim of reaching a maximum efficiency index. This experience has been successful and a significant increase in each efficiency index has been observed.REFERENCES
