ABSTRACT
Stress testing is a diagnostic method that provides information about the physical capacity (tolerance), ischaemia, or arrythmias of a patient. The principle is to challenge the patient with an established and progressive exercise protocol and then evaluate the cardiovascular response. Stress testing should be done under a close and intense medical monitoring. Effort can be also a trigger to unmaske symptoms that are not evident during resting. So, we can use it like a diagnostic procedure, or even more, we can make some prognostic considerations about the patient. We can also study the chronotropic and pressure response to exercise. The stress testing help us to stratify the patient’s cardiovascular risk and, it can show us how to set the therapy strategy in patients with cardiovascular disease.REFERENCES
