ABSTRACT
Programs of cardiac rehabilitation have currently demonstrated that improve the quality of life of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. The information received during the sessions, physical training, and continuous health status evaluation during the program provides security and confidence to the patient, thus improving adherence. We describe a clinical case with the aim to spreading the evidence of the benefits and achievements of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program (CRP) as a consequence of providing a nurse systematized care process and by using the NANDA, NIC and NOC taxonomy. A female patient was referred to the cardiac insufficiency clinic of the Instituto Nacional de Cardiología Ignacio Chavez. The patient had idiopathic dilated myocardiopathy that was diagnosed through clinical history, surface electrocardiogram, chest X-ray and echocardiography. She had signs and symptoms of cardiac insufficiency noticeable by its inability to performing her daily activities. The patient had an 80% adherence to the CRP and declared improvement in her quality of life.REFERENCES
