ABSTRACT

We present the case of a young patient who was involved with the diagnosis of acute appendicitis, detected a mass in the blind inflammatory characteristics of which could not be ruled out malignancy, with a normal cecal appendix and whom he finally made a right hemicolectomy, after making the diagnosis of cecal diverticulum drilled through study contrasted. We conducted a literature review of the subject, exposing data on the clinical diagnosis and treatment, stressing the importance of the preoperative diagnosis to be able to avoid emergency laparotomy.
