ABSTRACT
The evaluation of many clinical manifestations that do not follow a characteristic pattern, suspecting a mental disorder, is difficult and among them they are the somatoform disorders. In the 2001, the World Health Organization stimated that 450 million of people have a mental disorder or behaving. The incidence and prevalence are different in whole world by different factors. The presence of outbreaks by these disorders have been reported in several countries attributing them to it mainly to sociocultural factors. The clinical manifestations can be varied, but according to the American Psychiatric Association at least four painful symptoms, two digestives, one sexual and one pseudoneurological must appear. The therapeutic strategy must go to the modification of the behavior. The doctor must review and update this type of disorders, to make an early diagnosis and opportune treatment.
