ABSTRACT
Pulmonary tuberculosis represents a serious health problem worldwide. Every year more than 10 million new cases are reported; more than 75% corresponds to pulmonary tuberculosis. Several studies have been made to understand the interaction of the different cells taking part on the control of this disease; dendritic cells play a very important role in the beginning and maintenance of the immune response. Herein, we describe the main events that occur as soon as the dendritic cells start to interact with the tubercule bacillus.
