AL amyloidosis results from tissue deposition of immunoglobulin light chains, occurring in 15% of patients with multiple myeloma. Mucocutaneous lesions are often the first manifestations, helping in earlier recognition of monoclonal gamapathy.
A 71-year-old man who with cutaneous lesions on the eyelids, retroauricular folds and upper back, which proved to be due to amyloid deposition is reported. Further investigation revealed multiple myeloma.
