ABSTRACT
Some pathologies entities like scleroderma and Parry Romberg Syndrome produce severe facial asymmetry. Others that can also alter face contour are lupus, hemifacial microsomy and trauma. Free fat grafts have been used since 1889, with the open ceiling technique. After that, with the advent of liposuction, fat was obtained that way. It was not until 1994 when Coleman announced the purified atraumatic technique. This last technique gives the best results in preserving volume due to the viability of the adipose tissue and in permanence. This study reports the utilization of Peridural cannula for lipoinjection in 16 patients with different pathologies using the atraumatic technique. The use of the peridural cannula provides an alternative low cost method easily accessible in any medical center. Using this method we achieved long lasting results. We present a follow up of between 12 and 36 months.
