ABSTRACT
The purpose of the present study was to isolate
Aeromona hydrophila in the liver of the rainbow trout
(Oncorhynchus mykiss) at the fish farm in the State of Mexico. Affected fish were processed for histological and bacteriological studies. At histology, tissue changes were deposits of hialine material at the glomerular space and in the tubular light of the kidney, epithelial hiperplasia in the intestine, leptomeningeous congestion in the brain and inflammatory reaction in the periesclerotic region of the eye were observed. These changes suggest a septicemia caused by
A. hydrophila that were identified by the isolation of the agent. Its important to make the differential diagnosis between different septicemia processes present in fish to improve the management and to we aware of
A. hydrophila which is an important opportunist pathogen, and is very common in fish farms.
