ABSTRACT
Cardiac trauma is infrequent, but in trauma hospitals and in high incidence violence zones, the patients that come to the ER require immediate attention. A retrospective review was made in 34 files of patients that came to the ER of SSDF La Villa Hospital, from January 2003, and February 2004, with penetrating wounds in the precordial region, hemodynamically normal, with suspicion of cardiac lesion, and with non concluyent paraclinic studies.
