ABSTRACT
Gestational choriocarcinoma (CG) is the most aggressive form of gestational trophoblastic disease, prognosis is not good because of the appearance of early metastases, but when the diagnosis is early is considered as “curable”, even in metastatic forms, because it responds adequately to chemotherapy. In 40% of gestational choriocarcinoma there is no tumor in the uterus, in this circumstances the clinical presentation depends of the affected organs. We report a case of a 31-year-old woman with CG with a history of miscarriage 11 months prior to death. Her first clinical manifestation was upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding with no determined cause. The autopsy revealed a polipoid metastasis in the stomach which caused uncontrollable hemorrhage, hypovolemic shock and death.
