ABSTRACT
Introduction: A 67 year- old male patient showing icterus (jaundice) with a three months of evolution. After being admitted, hepatic function tests showed alterations, as well as direct and indirect total bilirubin tests, that through magnetic resonance, a solid injury dependent of pancreas was found, producing an obstruction of the third medium of coledocus and dilation of the proximal third thereof and of the intra-hepatic bile duct. The third distal of the coledocus did not show any alteration and pancreatic duct was prominent, but even within normal ranges.
Discussion and Conclusion: After pancreatectomy, histopatologic diagnosis was focal sclerosant-lymphoplasmatic pancreatitis, a rare cause for chronic pancreatitis associated to inflammatory-type pancreatic mass that simulates cancer.
