Skin metastasis from renal carcinoma and from thyroid papillary carcinoma; report of two cases

ABSTRACT

Cutaneous metastases from internal malignancies are uncommon and have been reported in only 0.7-9% of cases. We present two cases of cutaneous metastasis of renal cell carcinoma and papillary thyroid carcinoma to the fingers. New skin nodules in a patient with cancer may represent manifestations of metastatic disease and should prompt thorough evaluation with dermatological examination and biopsy of suspicious lesions.
