Merkel cell carcinoma: an unusual clinical presentation

ABSTRACT
The Merkel cell carcinoma is an unusual and agressive neoplasm with bad prognostic. Commonly is located in the head and neck or extremities in eldery people. A 77-year-old white woman with a 80 mm primary lesion in right leg was diagnosticated as a primary Merkel cell carcinoma by histopathology and imunohistochemical staining. In her follow up, two new satelites lesions have appeared in a very short time, also inguinal and retroperitoneal lymph nodes chain were observed. The treatment was chemotherapy.
