ABSTRACT
Introduction. In the last years the frequency of outside-lung tuberculosis has increased by several factors. Principally the infection due to human immunodeficiency virus, chronic renal diseases and immunosuppression. therapy. Tuberculosis (Tb) in post-operated renal transplant recipient is not common. Objective. To inform the case of tuberculosis in a renal transplant recipient. Methods. We report the case of a woman of 27 years old, who presented acute abdominal pain after three years of the renal transplant. We show intra-abdominal infection provocated by intestinal tuberculosis that causes several intestinal perforations that require many surgical procedures due to the intra abdominal collection and several intestinal perforations. The histopatology report shows granular injuries and compatible bacillus with the intestinal tuberculosis. The medication for the Tb can not be installed because the bowel had many lesions. The patient developed septic shock and she died. Conclusions. The intestinal tuberculosis is a frequent pathology in countries where the disease is endemic. However in our country reappears in patients with immunosuppression regimens as in the case of the renal transplant recipient. Tuberculosis intestinal diagnostic is difficult and is a cause of acute abdomen. It should be known as a possible cause of infection in a renal transplant recipient.REFERENCES
