An investigation was carried out with 2,008 observations from production records of a commercial flock of Suffolk sheep located in Huehuetoca, State of Mexico, in order to determine the effect of some environmental factors on percentages of ewe fertility (PF), ewe prolificacy (PP) and lamb survival (PS). Overall least-squares means for PF, PP and PS were 72.5±7.0%, 141.3±7.5% and 77.5 ± 7.8%, respectively. Year of lambing significantly (P ‹ 0.01) influenced the variation of PF, PP and PS. PF showed a gradual tendency to increase during the years included in this study, whereas an irregular pattern was found in PP and PS. Age of the ewe was another factor that significantly (P‹ 0.01) influenced the same variables. A curvilinear effect was found for PF (with a peak of 83.9% in the six-year-old ewes) and PS (with a peak of 81.3% in the five-year-old ewes) with an irregular pattern in PP. Twin lambs survived more at weaning that single lambs (79.7
vs 75.8%), but this was not a significant difference (P › O.O5).
