ABSTRACT
Antiphospholipid syndrome is divided into primary (without clinical and biological manifestations of another disease) and secondary (related to other diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, and other autoimmune affections). Some prospective studies have demonstrated relation between anticardiolipin antibodies and the first event of venous thrombosis, the first myocardial infarction and the recurrent cerebral vascular accidents. This paper presents the case of a woman with familial data of cerebral vascular event and diabetes mellitus 2, who received the diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome.
