ABSTRACT

The orthopaedic prostheses dermatitis is a rare disease, with a very few reports in the world. The use of these prostheses is very common in healing fractures and they are composed mainly by nickel, chromium and cobalt or plastic as well as ceramic. The disease begins with detachment of metal particles that lead to skin injury by means of hypersensitivity. Rejection, necrosis and bone deformity are late complications, and a review of the item is made.
