ABSTRACT
The acute diarrhea in children is a problem of public health in our country, in spite of the strategies that are used to diminish the presence of cases as it is the potable water use, drainage, maternal milk improvement of the feeding. Such measures are not sufficient and the medical services in the areas of pediatrics urgencies hospitalize to children with diarrhea and dehydration. The germs that frequently are associated to diarrhea are of viral origin mainly, followed by the bacterial ones. However, the antibiotic use is handled empirically, which brings like result an unnecessary cost. In such context new vaccines are used and evaluated to reduce the so high incidence of the disease and to diminish therefore the morbidity and the mortality of the pediatric population.
