ABSTRACT

Munchausen's Syndrome (MS) is an enigmatic mental disorder in which the patient creates his own symptoms because he wants to play the role of a patient. The main features of MS, are reviewed so the general practitioners can recognized it and start the treatment. It is very important to make the differential diagnosis, specially with simulation and psychosomatic patients. We strongly recommend that the psychotherapeutic approach should be done through an indirect way rather than confronting directly the patient.
