ABSTRACT
This is a retrospective trial of 15 children under 15 years of age, who were admitted and 10 who were treated as outpatients, for a whole of 25, with proximal femoral fracture in a 30-month span, from January 1997 through June 1999. Surgical treatment was by screwing or pinning in 22, and cast was used only in 2, while one remained untreated. However, 25 complications occurred as follows: nechrosis 9, shortening 8, coxa vara 4, pseudoarthrosis 3 and premature physeal closure in one.
