ABSTRACT

One hundred Spineblock c-spine plates have been applied from September 1998 through June 2001, in adult patients who had one or more cervical herniated discs. This is an original design which is produced in titanium (Ti6A14B) which characterized by an optimal resistance and by X-ray translucency. Plate is double-curved for a better adaptation to vertebral bodies. Four anchor-designed pins are in the corners for primary positioning and for avoiding instability while screwing. Holes are alternating round and oval and only one screw is needed for every vertebral body. Affected discs were removed and the involved spinal segment is fixed by plate. Standard good results have been currently obtained.
