ABSTRACT
In this article an exhaustive bibliographical review of the most employed drugs for osteoporosis treatment is made, as well as their efficiency to prevent fractures. The most important problems to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of this disease with a reasonable cost-benefit are also discussed. Finally some strategies and proposals are discussed to define if it is appropriate or not the drug administration and if necessary, what kind of drug to use.
