ABSTRACT
This is a controlled trial of 89 cases recorded from January 1992 to May 1998. There were 41 women and 48 men. The averaged age was 58 years. According to the AO classification, the most frequent fracture was 31A3.3 which means more than half of the whole patients. The most frequently used implant was the 8 holes plate and the lenght of the screw was of 80 mm. Bone union was observed after 20 weeks in 94% of the patients. Normal gait was achieved in 85% of our cases, which is higher in comparison to other studies.
