ABSTRACT
The present paper is an anthropological approach of a problem that affects the population of wide sectors of Mexico. We refer to the malnutrition of children bellow five years of age in rural and indigenous communities, taking as reference the community of Hueyapan, municipality of Tetela del Volcan, Morelos, Mexico. We compiled and carried out a somatometric analysis of the population bellow five years. The fact that all the families included in the program faced the same socioeconomic conditions, and that a small group concentrated cases with second grade malnutrition, we focused our investigation in the factors in the interior of the household that could worsen the nutritional state of those infants. I centered in the description and analysis of the social factors of each one of the parents regarding their children, and guided our attention to find a solution for those severely undernourished.REFERENCES
