ABSTRACT
The fractures of the trochanteric region are the most frequent of the proximal femur. We analyzed the historical evolution of the treatment of this fractures. This is a prospective study, and longitudinal. From June of 1997 to August of 1998 we studied 18 patients with intertrochanteric and high subtrochanteric fractures that were managed with a proximal femur nail and according to the classification de Merle D’Aubigné had 95% excellent or good results. Although the following period is short, we show our experience in this type of implants.REFERENCES
