Total hip arthroplasty treated by CLS acetabular cup

ABSTRACT

An observational, descriptive, transverse and retrospective trial was carried out in order to determine loosening of CLS prosthetic acetabulum in 226 cases who were operated from March 1992 to December 1997. There were 124 male and 102 female patients, aged 36 years in average.
Neither loosing nor migration or waste was found in any patient. Average of acetabular inclination was 46.1 degrees. It is realized that lack of loosening can be attributed to the expanding anchorage of cup. A large follow up should be desirable to obtain more reliable results.
