ABSTRACT
Acetabular dysplasia leads to hip arthrosis in young people. Multiple osteotomies of the iliac bone have been described in an atempt to increasing the covering of the femoral head. This is a preliminary report of six patients, with ages that ranged from 11 to 26 years treated by acetabuloplasty of increased groove. All had acetabular dysplasia, angle of Wiberg smaller than 20 degrees, and a very big or extruded femoral head, but concentric. Pain, joint stiffness, stability of the hip, and increase of the acetabular roof was valued. We had four excellent and two good preliminary results.
