ABSTRACT
This is the case of a 49 year-old man who had non-tropical pyomyositis. An unusual clinical picture was outlined by night thigh pain irradiated to the knee and to the heel. Meniscal symptoms were relieved by arthroscopy. MRI for lumbar spine was normal. As pain continued, MRI for the thigh demonstrated an abscess of quadriceps muscle in its vastus laterals, which was treated by surgical debridement as well as an antibiotic schedule. Periostic reaction of the femur was observed during surgery because of vicinity to sinus. A satisfactory outcome was obtained as demonstrated by an initial follow-up of 10 weeks.
