ABSTRACT
Subconjunctival hemorrhage represents an iceberg-over-the-ocean of etiologic possibilities. Although benign by its own nature, it is sometimes the only clinical manifestation of a systemic illness, such as systemic hypertension. Knowledge of this association can be beneficial in the identification of asymptomatic hypertensive population, as well as to prevent hypertensive damage to different target organs.
