ABSTRACT
Erosive lichen planus of the palms and soles is one of the most unusual forms of lichen planus. It tends to run a chronic course, with painful ulcers that respond poorly to conventional therapy. The clinical case of 49 year-old woman with a 6-year history of an ulcerative lesion on the sole and toes of her left foot is presented. Toe webbing was lost. The initial medical treatment with topical and intralesional steroids was unsuccessful. The condition was finally resolved by tangential debridation and split skin grafting combined with a course of oral prednisone. We concluded that tangential debridation with split skin grafting plus preoperative oral steroids represent the best treatment for erosive lichen planus unresponsive to conservative management.
