ABSTRACT
The term "cutaneous microbiota" refers to the population of commensal microorganisms that inhabit the skin and have an ecological balance that provides protection. There are various factors that cause an imbalance in the microbiome and, as a consequence, microorganisms become pathogenic. In this article, we carry out a review of the literature to describe the main microorganisms that make up the cutaneous microbiota, as well as the triggering factors and pathologies associated with the alteration of the microbiome.
