ABSTRACT
Challenging cardiomyopathies in their genesis, evolution and therapeutic conduct, which have heart failure with its complexities as a common syndrome, are updated annually. We describe the case of a 46 year-old male patient with a history of heart failure of eight years of evolution, debut symptom, significant weight loss, dyspnea on small efforts, asthenia, nocturnal cough and edema in the lower limbs. After clinical stabilization and pharmacological optimization, the echocardiogram documented the diagnosis of biventricular noncompaction cardiomyopathy, unfortunately not corroborated by cardiac magnetic resonance due to the death of the patient. This is a rare disease and its diagnostic protocols are currently under debate; however, the multimodality of the images and an exhaustive clinical approach can define its diagnosis. The case presented, although rare, deserves review and its handling, both diagnostic and therapeutic, is a relevant contribution to modern cardiology.REFERENCES
