ABSTRACT
Introduction: Allergic diseases are conditions that occur due to an exaggerated reaction to common substances such as pollen, dust mites, animal dander, certain foods or medicines. These allergic reactions can manifest themselves in different forms, such as allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal mucosa), asthma, urticaria, atopic dermatitis and food allergies, among others. Therefore, the objective is to determine the prevalence of Dennie Morgan folds in patients from 0 to 10 years old attended at theCIS Roger Mercado during the period from October 2023 to April 2024.Methodology: Quantitative observational descriptive study.
Results: The analysis revealed that the prevalence was 25.86%, which means that, out of every 100 patients, 25 of them have dennie morgan folds. The folds were more present in patients with allergic rhinitis, this being the most commonly associated allergic condition.
Conclusions: The findings support the idea that Dennie Morgan folds could serve as a clinical marker to identify atopy and allergic diseases in pediatric patients.
