ABSTRACT
Chagas disease is a zoonosis caused by the
Trypanosoma Cruzi protozoa. In most of the cases a chronic evolution of the disease is characteristic which results in high levels of morbidity and mortality in the countries where the disease is endemic. Immunosuppression in patients with
Trypanosoma Cruzi infection can result in worsening of the disease, presenting as an acute and severe atypical case. Herewith a patient with chronic Chagas disease worsened undergoing immunossupressive in order to avoid rejection of liver transplantation, is reported.
