ABSTRACT
Recently, diabetes has been a global health problem. According to
the International Diabetes Federation, globally, 537 million adults
between the ages of 20 and 79 are living with diabetes (one in
ten), this number is expected to rise to 643 million by 2030 and
783 million by 2045. In Central and South America, it is mentioned
that one in 11 adults (32 million) lives with diabetes, however, one
in three patients living with diabetes are not diagnosed. It has
been estimated that more than 30% of patient’s presented skin
manifestations at the beginning of the disease and, up to 100%
during its course. In our study, skin infections, mainly mycosis
were one of the most common skin manifestations of diabetes.
